Colour, Culture and Connection

ree

In between their daily activities, volunteers and the community come together in a variety of activities. Earlier this year they made traditional Carnival masks, guided by local artist Luis Chávez.

The brightly coloured masks are often used to represent historical and social dynamics; they're a way for Ecuadorians to showcase different characters, explore cultural narratives and celebrate their heritage during carnival - as well as everyone to have fun in a communal setting.

It wasn’t just a workshop — it was a joyful celebration of identity, creativity, and cultural exchange!

Seeds of Hope

A huge congratulations to Valery 🇪🇨 and Tara 🇦🇹 for their amazing work - raising essential money and running inspiring creative workshops - in the Nursery of Atandahua! An amazing first step towards helping young children get a better start in life.

After helping develop the infrastructure for the opening of the nursery, these are the first internships we've been running there. As most come from low-income backgrounds, it's vital for their development, nutrition and enabling their parents to work.
