The following is an El Terreno newsletter published on 29th January 2025

We're now firmly into 2025 with our first webinar, a full house in Atandahua, and some great reforestation, community garden and gender projects taking form!
But we still have a moment to reflect on some rewarding community events that took place at the end of last year. Thank you for your continued support.

Charity Run 4k
Improving Health Access for the 11 Communities Who Depend on San Juan's Clinic
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and organisers who were part of the Carrera Benéfica 4K in San Juan de Llullundongo.

The charity race, held on the 14th of December, helped raise over $1000 to buy essential equipment of the local health centre, which is currently facing significant challenges.
Watch the Video:
Over 100 racers participated - half of which were children from local schools - It was a day dedicated to raising awareness and support for the health and well-being of both adults and children in the San Juan and surrounding communities.

These activities are made possible thanks to the generosity of people like you, many who make a small monthly contribution to benefit the low-income communities surrounding El Terreno.

Sustainable Architecture: Webinar Recording Available
Last week we hosted our first webinar of 2025 with the help of our sustainable architecture mentor, Sebastián Calero. Drawing from his extensive experience, he shared how traditional building techniques and innovative eco-friendly solutions can create spaces that honor local culture while addressing modern environmental challenges.

Sebastián demonstrated how sustainable architecture can foster resilience, promote affordability, and blend seamlessly with its surroundings.
A big thank you to Sebastián and all who joined us in this engaging webinar. Together, we are bridging tradition and innovation to build a better tomorrow.

New Internship Opportunities at the Nursery!
As you may remember, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social & Economic Inclusion and EcuaExplora, we were able to invest in the local school infrastructure, to turn it from an abandoned building into a nursery for the local community.

Over 6 months later, the nursery has been thriving! With over 35 children, it provides education, 3 meals and much needed free time to parents to work. However, due to a severe lack of government resources, they desperately need help to improve their serve further.

That's why we're now offering an internship for early-years education! If you're interested in working with 1-3 year olds in creating classes, didactic materials, training and fundraising, your support would make a huge impact to children and young families.
